I can tell you 10% off MSRP is not dealer cost. plus they make more money after the sale in most cases. Also, I said I shoot for 10% and in most cases I get it or close. Other times I may only be 8% but I get a few perks with the deal. You have to be honest with yourself and what you want to spend and be willing to walk away if needed.

I have found that Kelly Blue Book and Edmund's,com both offer effective tools to aid in making an informed decision when purchasing a vehicle. Either will provide MSRP, Invoice, and Fair Market pricing based on actual sales activity for the vehicle you want in your zip code. Of course, nothing says you need to follow their guidelines, but it's a good place to start. Right now a loaded

I just bought a 2019 S5 coupe. As is usual where I am, the car had to come from out of state, once it was located. I was pretty particular about what I wanted, though I was prepared to be flexible on some things. Turned out they found (well, I found, and gave them the VIN, stock number, and dealer info where they could find it!) a 99% match; the only thing different from my spec was it had dynamic steering, which I'm happy to have but would just as easily have passed on. Went in with a price based on all the usual Internet stuff and adjusted for where we are (the butt end of nowhere), I ended up at roughly 6% off. Could I have gotten more? Dunno. I'm not a fan of endless negotiations and there is one dealer here with the next closest being several hours away. And this dealer, the one I'll be doing service at for the next few years, has sold to several of my colleagues and treated me quite well. The process was smooth and transparent, and given all the circumstances I feel the price was good.

Thank you! I'll see what I could get. There are roughly 4 Audi dealers within 10 miles. Assumingly that is lots of competition?

I totally feel you. The endless negotiation is not a thing for me either... If I were you, I wouldn't force any further either since that is the only dealer close by. lol
