Default IPhone sometimes not pairing to bluetooth

Has anyone else been having their IPhone not automatically pairing to the car via bluetooth? Sometimes my IPhone 7+ will pair on its own, and other times I have to go into the bluetooth settings on the phone and ask it to pair to the car manually.

Samesies with a Galaxy S5.

Connecting the phone to the car with a cable sometimes reminds the connection manager that the phone has been paired to the car.

Weird.

i only have one phone paired to the car and I just updated to iOS 12.1.4 yesterday. So far since the update it has paired every time. Fingers crossed it stays that way and it was just in the iOS.

ok good

I don’t know how iOS does what it does but it always seems like various features (in the car particularly) are really finicky about software. Stuff in my house never seems to really care what iOS I’m running, but the car does lol
