I've made a TERRIBLE MISTAKE!
I brought my A5 SB in for some software updates (more on that in a different thread) and they provided me with a Q7 loaner.
Unfortunately, this Q7 had ALL THE THINGS.
My A5 does not have ALL THE THINGS and in fact has barely ANY OF THE THINGS, by my design.
I should have known as a tech enthusiast, that I might really like using ALL OF THE THINGS.
I liked getting my car back after a couple of days, but I surely miss THE THINGS.
(Specifically, HUD, ACC and lane guidance. The massage chairs were okay. And the 360 cameras).
Fortunately the wife tells me I will have to get rid of the A5 SB when our infant grows older and I will have the opportunity to buy ALL THE THINGS next time.

I get what you mean, but ACC and lane guidance is only useful in non heavy traffic situations. I don't trust them with stop and go heavy traffic which is most of my commute..

I did find I'm a more cautious driver than the default ACC setting. Specifically, it'll wait a bit longer than ideal for me to start slowing down. Still, a nice addition, definitely not a replacement, to my driving routine.

Buy your wife a Q7. That’s what I did.

I'm almost the opposite, as I have the Prestige, but the only options that I find much value in are the HUD and overhead camera. I almost never use the DAP options and would rather have a couple thousand dollars back.

I use ACC heavy traffic situations, all the time. That is where it works best. I still keep my brake foot ready for any nearby idiot.
One can set the distance closer or further than default (three marks). At the default distance, people tend to merge into my lane, sometimes I set it closer at 2 marks, but I don't like to tailgate.

I love the ACC and use it all the time, traffic or no, especially stop and go traffic. Just don't make the mistake of dropping your guard. I consider it rest for my feet and legs, not my level of engagement. Knowing it will stop later than I would, I do the initial braking often when coming up on cars that are stopped for any reason. On the other hand, I find the lane departure feature very much less reliable and use it sparingly when I think I might be distracted for a moment.
