Nav/Map/Tel/Menu Button Not Working
My wife's 2018 A5 Nav/Map/Tel and Menu buttons are not working. We can use a workaround to use escape to get to the menus.
The dealership has told me that my wife spilled water/coffee on the buttons and will not cover the issue under warranty and want $1000 for the repair.
Has anyone else had this issue?

I remember reading of a similar situation with another member who had spilled soda into the MMI buttons. They found another MMI switch control board from eBay, bought it and replaced theirs. It did not solve the problems they were experiencing.
Sorry, but I do not remember the thread, but IIRC, there wasn’t a resolution posted in that thread.
Good Luck.

You'd think since the buttons are located right next to the cup holders they'd at least have designed it to withstand some spills. It's not rocket science to design a spill-proof keyboard nowadays.

X2 . . . Unless they are hoping for some repair $$$ from just this situation. I know that sounds cold but it would not surprise me in the least.

Take it to another dealer. It may already be flagged if the original dealer has already seen it, but it does not hurt to try.
Malicious (read: accidental) spillage causing electrical shortage or not, the burden lies on them to determine the cause. If you hold firm that you want this taken care of, have them prove to you that it is in fact moisture damage and you will pay for the subsequent costs if you so choose as a middle ground.
I've had to deal with worse and assisted friends who had to deal with warranty repairs that involved a new engine block. Show that you are committed and not trying to hide anything.

Thanks for the advice which I am already scheduled for next Friday.
I did not buy the car from the first dealer that I went to get it fixed. I do feel that they treat me and my wife not as well because we did not buy from them.
