Default Ordered 2019 A5 SB Prestige

Couldn’t find a 2018 anywhere that was exactly what we wanted, so yesterday we ordered a 2019. Mythos Black Metallic, Black leather interior, Gray Oak Wood interior inlay, no other options. We noted that the Driver Assistance package, which we wanted and which was formerly an option only available on the Prestige, is now included in it for 2019. Pricing was not yet available but it was easy and painless to agree on a percent off MSRP. With much luck (and no 25% tariff from Trump) we should have it by the end of November. The whole shopping and purchasing process was made enjoyable by the people at Audi Washington (Washington, PA), with special props to our salesperson, John R.

Congratulations! Did you have any hesitation about ordering the standard suspension versus the sport suspension that is part of the S Line Sport Package? I have a 2019 A5 Cabriolet Prestige on order with the standard suspension (originally wanted the Adaptive suspension option, but no longer available with the 2019 model year, at least for the A5 Cabriolet Prestige), but I have a small part of me that questions whether I should get the sport suspension. Just curious whether you test drove A5 with both suspensions and your impressions.

Test drove a sport suspension briefly. Didn't notice much of any difference. The car will be my wife's and she did not see any value to her of the (rather expensive) S Line package, nor did she have an interest in the sport suspension. Were it to be my car I might have done differently.

For a 2018, Edmunds shows the invoice price as 6.4% off MSRP, and an average price actually paid of 3.3% off MSRP. I have no reason to think 2019 pricing is much different. We paid between invoice and Edmunds average.

Did you get any time frame from your dealer? My S5 was ordered a few weeks ago but still has no ETA.

Congrats once again. It is nice that you will get the exact car you wanted. Now comes the hard part, waiting.

it won't have an ETA as there is no production schedules set for this segment models yet. Dealers will be able to provide ETA's in September once production schedules are established

Just a rough estimate of 3 months, based on past history. Note SCarGuy's comment above regarding production schedules.

Default Owner In Waiting Program

Has anyone with a new 2019 order been able to sign up for the Owner In Waiting program? I've asked my dealer to sign me up 3 weeks ago and they said they were having difficulties signing me up because of difficulties at Audi's end and I've received nothing so far. Any luck anyone?
