One thing that actually annoys me is there's no engine auto start-stop in manual mode. I'm sure I'm in the minority here.

I think he meant that he usually finds downshifting two gears is enough for him to pass based on his cruising speed.

I like to do this instead of the hold paddle/floor gas pedal method for passing.

I've grown to like ***. I also wish *** works with ACC but it doesn't! Plenty of times at a long drive-thru or red light I want to enable ACC to hold my brakes but *** is deactivated.

Yes, it works in that it will drop two gears. It happens so fast I'm not sure if it skips a gear or moves through them in sequence quickly. I always preferred it to the hold method because this way I know exactly which gear I'll be in and based on my current rpm will know approximately where I'll be after down shifting.

I find that the hold method usually drops it too low in gears and you end up just having to upshift immediately. On the other hand you get to hear the engine sing.
