Default Passenger seat detection - turn off?

I'm the recent owner of a new 2018 A5 cab. One of my favorite cars I've ever owned.

I had a quick question, it seems like the passenger seat detection is very sensitive.
If I am driving and just put a small item on the passenger seat, like my iphone or a sweater it sets it off.
The car pushes out the passenger seat belt holder. Then the passenger seat belt alert starts going off.

Its really frustrating, does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks in advance

Do not think you can - Thanks, nanny-state! But you may want to check with your dealer as the sensor may be defective.

I don't have this issue in my S5 Cab, and not seen anyone else asking about it. Could well be a fault.

I’m taking in my car today for the very same reason. They need to replace a pad or something like it. I suggest you to take you car in and have it fixed before it drives you crazy ...like it does with me

Default try a seat pad...

A seat pad will block anything - even 180 pounds of wife.

I have the same car, and have not noticed that issue. Probably should get it checked out.

I have the same exact problem on my 2018 A6. The Audi Dealer is replacing a seat sensor. Part is on order and should arrive in the next day or two.

...actually, in my case it turned out that the pad had nothing to do with the problem. The issue was the software, and the reinstallation fixed that.

Bummer, that they still can’t update the software firmware...
