Using imagnet for years. Evutech makes great cases with magnet built in.

What I like about this solution is that it's very easy to remove and when you do you would never now it had been there.

yep. That's what I loved about my proclip as well, but you're right, it doesn't show up if you actually click through. Hmmm..

Here's a pic of my current one. Seems to be my best option yet.

I used to to be a fan of ProClip as well but didn't like the current offerings for this car.

Default adhesive damage?

I'm actually looking for a mounting solution myself. Those mounts that are stuck onto the dash or center console with adhesives, wouldn't they leave a mark on the plastic through long hours of sunlight exposure with wear and tear? If you ever remove the mount, wouldn't there would be a full difference in color?

The reviews for most adhesive mount options are very positive and the manufacturers are pretty confident about being able to remove them without damage (though you would have the replace the adhesive if you wanted to reuse the mount).

I doubt that carbon fiber or aluminum trims would fade or discolor over time. Wood might, but I wouldn't foresee any problems.

I've been using this for the past few years and also have a few other of their products (Bike Mount and additional mounts for around the house)

Have you looked at any of the cup holder phone mounts?
You lose a spot for your drink, but you have no adhesive.

I have not used one myself, but it might be an option.

i use 3M adhesive (command) in the RV. In high temperatures, sometimes the adhesive will give but it all depends on how heavy the item is.
