Cool.. Was curious how well seam / edges lined up and if it was noticeable. I really don't want to have the installer dismantle the doors and maybe cause other issues (rattles or what not) to do a seamless install. Thanks for the feedback.

I just checked mine and my installer only did the top half of the door, which makes sense because this the part that your finger nails or rings would most likely come in contact. The “seam” is hidden behind the door handle, so unless you are looking, you can’t see it at all.

Only until you feel the performance upgrade and get to admire that new RS style front grill. Then you are happy again.

Enjoy your mods.

Indeed it was. No I had my local shop in town do it. Took a few hours though (1pm-6ish pm).

I was quite intrigued by the Audi being dismantled and worked on, I stayed the whole time and watched and chatted with bystanders and even the technicians. Grill draws a lot of attention... in a subtle way.

No the car should be fine. The car has multiple fail safes in place if it were getting too hot. Seems us “S” folks also have an extra auxiliary cooler. Not sure why though, our oil cooler is built right into the engine.

Also, the JB4 has multiple failsafe protections in place on top of Audi’s excellent thermal management system (not including the OEM IC) def worth the upgrade to get a new bigger FMIC for these cars.

That was quite a day for your Car — and you!

Does anyone make an intercooler that’s black? I cannot imagine painting a radiator would do anything but decrease it’s cooling properties but if it were designed and built that way, the car would remain more “stealthy”? Just a random thought.

Congratulations!

I did a little searching and found this black intercooler but I know nothing about the company, WagnerTuning, U. K.:

It certainly would be more stealth than the uncoated silver aluminum intercooler that seem to be the norm.
