I checked on my Technik and I don't have PR-QK1 (Camera and/or distance sensor (driver assistance system)). Thus I don't have this camera and can't probably code Pre Sense City. Thanks god!

Right, but you are probably able to add traffic sign recognition in the future.

Are you able to find the schematic / part number of the mirror mounted camera?
I'd like to see if I can find out what it's capabilities are.

Also, what reference are you using to produce this information may I ask?

The code would be just QK1

If you have the other type of camera it may have a different code.

We are deducing that this type of camera is installed into Canadian models without ADAP.
It looks as though it can perform two functions: high beam assist and traffic sign recognition (with an upgrade at the dealership).

Those in the US have the other type of camera mounted higher up in the windshield.

That lower camera almost looks like this "hidden" dash cam. I guess if your car doesn't have that lower camera this would be a good way to add a dash came that looks OEM.

Are dash cams illegal in some areas? I would think it is an easy way for the car manufacturers to add a factory dash cam since the hardwares are already there and all they have to do is program it in the mmi.

A recent-ish Telsa update added "Sentry Mode" which basically added dash cam support that uses all the cameras that are already built into the car for auto pilot,etc.. to their cars.

i am surprise it took car manufacturers this long to catch onto this, its a nice high profit margin option. Hopefully this will open the door for more build in dash cams.
