Default Prices Paid for A5 SportBack

So, Since the A5 Sport Backs are coming to dealers and customers who ordered their cars are receiving them soon. Its probably time to start a thread to find out what people paid for their A5 SportBacks.

Best of luck to everyone, some will get better deals than others, just the way it goes. Driving off happy is what matters most!

Placed an order Friday after a test drive. Could not locate the configuration I wanted so decided to play it patient and order one.

I doubt dealers will be willing to discount much as they are just arriving. Prestige may bring a bigger discount since (judging from the A4) most buyers will go as high as the Premium Plus and stop there. On the A4, when leasing the Premium Plus it has a higher residual than the Prestige. Not sure about the A5, but I would imagine they are pretty similar.

So it may be a few months. probably till the middle of summer till dealers are ready to discount. As I was all ready to make a deal on a A4 but once I heard the A5 Sport Backs were starting to ship and they are arriving at dealers and the prices are similar to the A4. It got me to change my choice to the A5 Sportback.

Well the A5 SB will stay at 6% max discount for a long time. Also if leasing the MF when converted to APR will be on the 4-4.5% for high qualified buyers...it will be one of those cases when getting an A4 will be wayyyy cheaper than an A5 SB or an A6 will also be cheaper in some cases.

When I was negotiating price on my A5 SB I wasn't able to get much of a discount and when I expressed my dissatisfaction he told me get an A4 because he can sell the same trim/option level for $500 under invoice. A4s start off ~$3,000 cheaper than the same level A5 SB.

To have a clear idea...an A4 in FL can be negotiated up to 15% off MSRP and also when leasing MF when converted to APR is about 1% vs the A5 SB at 6% off MSRP and MF-APR of 4.5%.

An A6 gets about 8% off MSRP but when leasing the MF-APR is 0.024% which is looooooooow!
