Also bought the Audi extended warranty since we keep our cars for a long time but don't expect to put much miles on this one: 7 years/70K miles/$100 deductible for $2300.

New member, first post.

I was on VW Vortex waiting to buy a Golf R, but they are STILL sitting at dock, so poop on them.
I just starting inquiring about A5 Sportbacks. The first dealer immediately offered 6% off of MSRP + delivery on a car in stock. Would 10% off be a fair counteroffer or should I shoot even higher?

No harm in going bigger. 12%? 15%? Maybe wait another week and let the end of the month/quarter approach, especially if you're not in urgent need.

Just got my A5 home yesterday:
MSRP: 46750

Price paid: 42150 include Audi care 10K($859) and all weather mat ($160)
Doc ($595), Reg and Tax extra. ( Recall the negotiation only took 10 minutes)

Really like the car.

Too late! I'm already a happy owner. I got a little more than 6% off in the end.
I could not wait any longer as my 3 teenage drivers needed my Mazda 3. It was getting tough to share 2 cars among the 5 drivers in the house.

Can't remember the exact window sticker it was north of $58,000, paid $53,700 out the door with taxes, tags, and all other junk included. The car was off the lot.

just starting my search for A5 SB. going in was thinking of lowballing out the door 15% off sticker. Maybe too optimistic... or not enough? I can wait a bit for end of month/quarter

Actually is not unreallistic. If you want a Premium Plus I believe that's very doable as those things tend to sit in the dealer lot longer than Prestige and Premium models. The longer a car has been sitting in the dealer the more motivated the dealer is to let it go at a lower price.
