Question to A5/S5 Sportback Owners

I've owned lots of fast cars, and drove the S5 and A5 extensively, before settling on an A5. I agree that after five years the value delta would be about $5K. I also noted that 0-60 times were understated on the A5 and overstated on the S5 by some serious reviewers. Porsche used to do the same between base and S times. Lots more profit from the bigger engine.
For me it's a family car, they didn't find the high bolstered S5 seats as comfortable, and I agreed. For any responsible driving, the A5 is plenty fast, and can stop on a dime. For me again. I'd be more inclined to go for a normally aspirated six, rather than a turbo'd six, if sport car feel is critical, so it's a nitpick between turbo 4 or 6, IMHO.
Both fine cars, and I note you can order a 2019 S5 without some of the 2018 standard items. You can't go wrong either way.

These type of threads asking for opinion of a vehicle's trim level is pretty common. My opinion is that if you have the financial means and the S5 puts a smile on your face everytime you drive it, then it is worth every penny of that extra $5000. On the other hand, if the S5 does nothing for you when you drive it and you rather spend your money on other things like expensive vacations or going to bars, then the A5, or for that matter, a Kia Stinger offer more value for the money.

My interest started with an A5 S-Line.... until I drove it. Sorry but for a 'luxury' vehicle, the 2.0T doesn't cut it for me, as competent it is. It is not even a matter of power. Maybe I would tolerate it in a 35K, vehicle, but definitely not interested in a 45K+ one. So yes I took the plunge of spending 2K / year more on a S5 - that's the net effect on my monthly payment.
