Seems like an additional light comes on when you turn. IDK if it’s the fog light to the side you are turning or what, but it works great in my opinion.

At low speeds, the cornering light does come on, but the headlights themselves don't seem to be adaptive.

That is exactly it. If the fog lights are not already on when the car turns at night with the headlights on the fog light on the turning side turns on to light up the area the car is turning into. I never thought of it that way, but in effect it is adaptive headlights.

Another question. Is the exhaust sound inside the cabin fake?

Yes, through the speakers.
I love that the car can be silent if I choose for it to be. The pumped in sound is more a result of sound deadening removing the quite loud exhaust note from the cabin. The exhaust is also double valved meaning it can shut down to a single tailpipe if needed.

My understanding was that it was coming in through the speakers, but it was real. Kind of like what Porsche does.

It seems like I have read on the forum that the exhaust sound on the B9 S5 is not coming from the speakers. However the A5 does.

Unlike BMW and Mercedes, Audi doesn't send sounds through the speakers, uses a Soundaktor, as did the B8. Fuse can be pulled, your manual will detail which fuse it is. Works in conjunction with the exhaust flap.
