Actually come to think of it, you are probably right. The crazy thing though is that even on base cars without the sonar, Audi still refuses to use the entire screen! The image is displayed in the same small left section and the right side (which usually shows the sonar or OH view in other cars) has some useless text or is left blank - I forget but that stood out when I was in the service loaner. They should add another "view option" so you can only see the rear view, in 16:9 aspect ratio across the entire display.
