As for missing the heated wheel, I'm sure I'll miss that for about 20 days a year and I have a nice thin pair or grippy gloves that make it tolerable until the cabin gets up to temperature. Better that then missing out on the sportier wheel the other 345 days of the year![/QUOTE]
That sums it up perfectly!

The combination of the flat bottom and programmable button won out for me. I too have mine set to Drive Select.
I'm in Cali, so I don't have much need for a heated steering wheel. I wish the fine napa leather seats had a ventilation option while maintains the same look.

I had flat bottom steering wheels on my last two GTIs. And liked them and thought I'd miss the flat bottom wheel on my Audi, it would be nice but
the more I drive the A5 coupe the more I like the Audi round wheel. Not a beer drinker here, so no problem there.

There is more room to fool around with the wife or girlfriend at the Drive-In with the flat bottom wheel. That alone is worth the price of admission (to the movie and for the wheel).

Had the heated wheel in my A7....rarely used it. Love the flat bottom one in the new RS5!

I asked the same question last year and got this response from Audi Deutschland:
"Hi N8, coming back to your question about the heated steering wheels, our colleagues could not confirm why the flat-bottomed steering wheels are not available with a heating option. From the information we did manage to obtain, it appears that the market demand is not present. This could, of course, change at some point in the future, but whether the trend will go in that direction is something we cannot comment at this point. Our apologies that we are not able to provide more comprehensive details but we hope that this is helpful.
Greetings from Ingolstadt"
