RS5 VENTED SEATS

Nothing to do with weight, as Audi do make the RS5 with vented seats. Audi of America just doesn't make that option available on the standard order guide for the North American market. You could ask your dealer to check with them on a custom order.

Ventilated seats require the perforated leather not used on RS cars. Audi simply does not combine perforated leather with the diamond/hexagon seat stitching pattern. It's simply Audi being lazy. They say no one will buy them, but they don't know because it's never been offered. It's another example of Audi's out-of-touch interior color/material/feature choices offered in NA. Apparantly you didn't get the Audi memo that ventilated seats are a luxury item, not a sporty item. Your RS is a sporty car, so no ventilation for you!!!

You would also lose the sport seats with adjustable bolsters, and that was a deal breaker for me. I slid around too much in the ventilated seats.

I have the vented seats in my Porsche. It is interesting that they offer seat ventilation without changing the seat design while Audi does not. I like the seats in my RS5 and wouldn't want to sacrifice them for ventilation, especially since it's not a convertible. To me (in my location) vented seats don't seem that useful in a coupe, but to each his own.

I finally see a positive to being overweight! I enjoyed the ventilated seats this summer without feeling like I was sliding within the seat. My RSX was fitted with a Recaro driver’s seat which I found very comfortable even on a long trip. While I haven’t taken a really long trip in the S5 I think it will be even more comfortable than the RSX.
