RS5 Wait Time
What are others seeing for wait times on their RS5 orders? I "placed" my order on 3/2 and dealer said it's still in a waitlist. It'll still be another 90 days once it's even started.
Second question, if you were able to order a first wave RS5 when did you place your order, Sept/Oct 2018? I'm deciding how long to wait before I just say F it and wait for a 2020.

My order went in Sept-Oct 2018 and I'm still waiting but I did get confirmation that it has now been built and at port waiting to be loaded up on a ship and on its way to the East coast. Maybe by the end of May for delivery.

BUT: You ordered a “Custom Color” didn’t you? That had to add time to your wait.

Damn, thanks for the info so far. I’ve looked around the country and have seen some dealers have 15+ units on the lot. Seems crazy to me that a car at that price would have that many non-customized units hoping someone bites.

Production start: 4/4/19

On its way to Emden now....
If your dealer doesn't have allocations then it will sit as wait-listed for a while. With the car now being launched in Europe and ROW, U.S. dealers may be getting fewer (just a guess on my part) especially if the dealer hasn't moved many of their initial allocations. New allocations come out every month so ask your dealer if they got any allocated on May 1st, if not maybe switch to another that does have one, that is what I had to do.

Good advice. I think they’ve only sold 1 other RS5 which was ordered as well. Fingers crossed they get another allocation.
They’ve been really good to me over the years so I want to stay loyal but at some point if they can’t deliver...

The US was front loaded with RS5 allocations. Dealers turned them into orders. The stock was plenty in Q1. Now in Q2, the inventory dealers have is declining as more folks want the car, and the selling season begins. Here in Chicago inventory dropped 40% with a majority of the most popular builds (grey, white, black) disappearing and not being replaced. Now, North American allocations are extremely limited with Magna elite dealerships getting the golden tickets. Originally when I placed my order in November 2018 the dealer did not have an allocation and had to trade with another dealer for one. It finally came in April, but I picked up one on the lot in February from a different dealer as I didn’t want to wait that long.
If you can find a dealer that has your build on the lot I would try to get that especially because you want Sonoma green. That isn’t as popular with the masses (it’s beautiful). The dealership I ended up buying from had 17 in February, they have 8 now.
If if you want exclusive color you’re screwed. Oh hey moe!
