"S" sticker for rear brakes?
My car didn't have the S sticker on the rear brake caliper, is there an OEM looking S sticker I can get and what would be the right spot to put it on the rear caliper?

Brake calipers get really really hot, I wonder if the glue will withstand it and for how long? If the sticker comes off while driving if it would cause a safety issue with braking loss?

I think if the sticker comes off while braking, you will lose your turbo boost and the wiper fluid pump will have to be recalibrated. :) :)

I've seen videos of people putting decals on their calipers but they typically do this as part of painting the caliper. They would apply the decal after the color is applied and then put a coat of clear over everything.

The rear caliper is already painted, so do you really need a clear coat over that sticker or will it last long enough if you just apply it? |
There's a seller on eBay that has hi-temp decals. They appear to hold up very well in this application. Don't know if he has Audi decals.

Where are you going to put the decals? The problem is that the entire painted cover was removed to reduce cost, not just a decal

Great catch! I just looked at mine and realized all they did was to paint the caliper red. Damn sneaky, Audi: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...34527f8a4.jpeg — John |
I don't know why you guys think there's a "painted cover" that was "removed for cost"
That's just what the rear brakes are like. Single piston regular brakes because big brakes on the back of a car are mostly a waste due to physics. The front brakes don't have a cover, that is a genuine 6 piston caliper. |
