For those of you who installed your own, do you have any tips on how to loosen the factory lights out of the door?
I am having SIGNIFICANT resistance to prying out the existing lights. It is nowhere near as straightforward as all the Youtube videos show. I'd like to keep the factory ones intact for future use!

Haha, I wish it did what the video shows at 41 seconds! Nope, it's REALLY stuck in there, plastic flexing and not giving. Tried it only all 4 doors.
Certainly looked at that video first--that's what convinced me to do such as 'easy' project!

They are held in by pressure only. Look carefully at the light. One end will have a small rectangular indentation. Pry out on only that end. I used a trim panel tool about an inch wide, but I think a putty knife would be ok too.
After you get it part way out, the back edge may also slightly get hung up on the door trim. If so, stick a pocket knife in there and remove a little plastic on the end of the hole.

I was having issues removing mine as well. The best "tool" I found to use to get them out was a simple butter knife. I used an old set just in case, but didn't end up causing any damage to my butter knife (or more importantly, the car!).

My wife was sooooo jealous of these Audi puddle lights, so I am surprising her with a set for her beloved MINI Cooper S as part of her Xmas suprises:

The lights for the MINI are pretty damn cool since they come with 3 different light design inserts unlike the ones from Audi which have 1.

Hmmm, I expect the 3rd party unlicensed vendors to have something for Audi way before (if ever...)there is an "official" part for us.
I can image standardizing the inserts and all kinds of 3rd party options. Think emoji's, team logos, fully customizable options (your soccer mom, dog, etc...). Wonder if this is patented?
