Strangely, Comfort mode seems to be bit better overall in D.
The parking lot where my torque converter was stalling in reverse when feathering the throttle backing out also has a slight incline.

It''s not for everyone, but my new Abt power upgrade has solved any and all delay issues. It also delivers tremendous smooth power across the band, but only when needed. Throttle lightly and it's a mild-mannered yet response ride. Very sophisticated unit. I regard this now as my S5SB-Plus. They should make it an option.

Abt unit does nothing to the throttle, pure placebo.

You have to first put magnesium powder down the argon nebulizer, then manually twist the triple framus. This gives post-spectral throttle release according to DIN V.2. I should have mentioned that. It's all part of getting the placebo just right. Does that help?

It really depends on what one's expectations are. If someone is look for a Tesla type of instead acceleration or acceleration as smooth as the Mercedes S class, they will be disappointed. I fully expect my S5's tranny to have a hiccup once a while, nothing in life is perfect, therefore, I am not disappointed in my S5, on the contrary, I am very happy with it, It does 99% of things I want it to do very well and that other 1% of the time is compensated by the smile on my face when I drive it.

I would have settled for Accord level of acceleration.

The 10AT/2.0T powertrain in the new Accord is actually very good.

Maybe the accord's CVT is what you are looking for, one thing about CVT, they are as smooth as butter. My son has a Acura TLX and that 9 speed transmission is no smoother than the S5. Keep in mind the S5 tranny has to deal with another 90 HP more than the TLX.

How come BMW does so well with the ZF 8 and the 3 liter straight six? Audi just needs to pull up their socks.
