Default S5 Sportback vs S7

Has anyone been able to drive the S7 and compare it to the S5 Sportback? I'm interested in a performance comparison. They are both listed as 4.5 0-60 cars but I'm curious how they feel in comparison. I have a X5 50i and it's in the same realm quickness wise but feels quicker than the S5 I test drove.

Thanks!

I test drove several S7s before finally decided on the S5 Sportback. I was really tempted to lease a S7 especially because my local dealer was trying to get rid of the 2017s and provided special program that is not more expensive than leasing a S5. The S7's 8 cylinder engine with dual clutch transmission for sure provides more refinement and sounds better than S5's 6, feels more lively around town too. In general the S7 drives like a higher class luxury model, while the S5 SB more like a sport sedan. I decided on S5 because:

1. the left over S7s are mostly base model without sport package or premium B&O system which I really want; while the similar lease I could get an almost fully equipped S5 SB;
2. there is a new A7/S7 coming very soon; The S5 Sportback is brand new;
3. S7 only seats 4 because of the rear divider, and the rear seats do not provide much more headroom than the S5. This is supposed to be our family car so being able to seat 5 is a big plus;
4. 2018 or newer S7 would be a lot more expensive than the S5;
5. I do like the S5 size and feels it is more fun and sporty to drive than the base S7;
6 the S5 should be a cheaper car to maintain and buy if I decide to buy it after lease ends.

Jut my 2 cents. On the other end, I still wonder about my decision every time I saw a nice S7 though.
