Sportback = limited edition?
A guy at a dealer called me yesterday and we got to talking about the A5/S5 Sportback.
He told me that the Sportback was going to have a limited run in the US of only 10,000 cars made. Of that, 7,000 would be A5 Sportback with 3,000 being S5. Made it sound like certain configurations would only be available to those who preordered.
I've not seen anything to this effect anywhere online, so I'm wondering if anyone else has heard this? Or perhaps the dealer was trying to create some increased urgency with that information.

The Sportback is needs to be a big hit for Audi USA, hence why it's priced UNDER the Coupe.
There is no way Audi USA is putting a limited run on this when all the articles/media/etc point to the Sportback being a model they want to push and sell.

I was at a dealer event last night for the new Q5 launch and they had just received their first A5 Sportback and had it on the floor too. It got as much if not more attention as the Q5.
Launch cars look to be Matador Red with Black interior, Premium Plus with Navigation package and B&O.

I was given an appointment for April 28th to Pickup my S5 Sportback. It's expected to be at the dealer next week.
