Default Thoughts on Debadging

I'm thinking about blacking out all chrome/silver pieces and thought it might look better/symmetrical if I debadge...

Debadging was hot back in 2003... not sure about this day and age. Anybody done it?

Not my cup of tea. I always associate no badges as the car has been in a wreck and they weren't replaced during the repair. I was told that over 35 years ago and it stuck. I know kind of old school but old habits die hard....

When I see a car with no identification, often they are severely dropped and equipped with loud exhausts. So my first thought is "boy racer".

All valid points... This would be my first audi without a badge on the right side of the trunk probably that's why it feels asymmetrical.

And I was just talking about the S5 badge... not the 4-rings - that would totally scream riceboy.

Having lived in Germany for the last 4+ years and seeing most cars are ordered from the factory without badging, I came to appreciate the look.

When I ordered my A5 from the sales agent in Stuttgart, I asked for the de-badging option only to find out it wasn't available for US spec cars.

Oh well, I did it myself; took 10 min with a blow dryer and a half roll of dental floss. So long A5, 2.0T and Quattro badges.

I'm for the most part, a renounced debadger!
Now I have always thought European cars do not look complete without the brand badge, so I will leave on the four rings representing Audi this time. I will just have them painted black.
Since I paid for an S5, which looks almost identical to the A5 from the rear, I will also opt to leave all S5 badging on. I will have all of them (rear, sides {front door/fender}, and the front one, painted black.

Every single time I see a debadged car, I assume it is the absolute barebones most unexciting base model zero-options stripper trim of whatever that car is, and 4 times out of 5 I am right.

Debadged Accord Coupe? Must be an LX 4 cylinder with cloth seats and automatic trans.....<peaks in window> yep of course it is and oh look there's his vape pen in the cup holder and he plastidipped some of the dash trim candy apple red and it's starting to peel in the corner.

Same with blacked out emblems.
