Driver side door frame, usually around where the door frame starts to curve towards the door sill surface.

They got it sorted out. The process had to be started from the beginning and is apparently quite lengthy. Download firmware to SD card then install into car, 2+ hours.

For some additional data points, I'm posting pics below showing 1316 on MMI status page, and the writeup from the tech showing the TSB number referenced and a couple other numbers used to describe the work done.

They didn't write down the problem I described very accurately, but well enough to address it.

Indeed. It will be great to finally put this 16-month-long thread to bed.

It's almost surreal seeing all these responses about this issue getting fixed. I feel like I'm in a dream and am about to wake up. I have an appointment next Tuesday to get this update. Hopefully it's not just a dream!

X2. If only the other “issues” could be fixed.

I have a gray label on the rear edge of the driver's door. Gives VIN, weights, and the second line begins with "1217" which could mean Dec 2017. I bought it in Spring 2018 off the lot.

Interesting, some are getting one TSB vs. the other, some even both. I gave both those TSB numbers to my advisor when I made the appointment, guess I will find out in two days which one I will be getting.

This was really bothering me and had asked my dealer about it on my visit last week. At the time I was told, "that is just the way it is, nothing can be done about it. Thr car will always default to the graphic display" After reading here, I called my dealer today and now have an appointment on Monday for the update. They denied any fix until I gave them the TSB #, and were then very apologetic and helpful, Duh!

Thanks to all for the effort chasing this down. I only have my car for a month now and just found the forum last week.

Happy camper.

Anybody notice the google maps display has been affected with the update? I just had my car done yesterday and Now the display on both the center screen and instrument cluster show this very annoying white copyright text in the upper middle portion that doesn’t go away and makes the map harder to read.

Anybody else have this issue? I tried restarting the MMI and it didn’t go away.
