Unlock from inside when battery is dead
So I just heard about this guy who got stuck in his own car for 14 hours because his battery went dead, and the Cadillac uses a button instead of a door handle.

Our cars have a physical handle, so you can't really lock yourself inside your car in your garage. But I'm still curious in case the door is locked during a drive, and you're in a crash/fire and what not and somehow the battery gets disconnected, if you can still open the door by pulling on the handle? I looked in the manual and it doesn't mention anything about that.

Just to be clear GM did design a way out manually for the old guy he was not aware of it. Also of course the metal part of a seatbelt should be able to break a window for escape. And yes he was without his cell phone as well.

I have not tested it, but even if the door is locked, I believe the drivers door will open from the inside even if the door is locked and the car has no power. I know on other cars when the driver pulls on the inside door handle it is all physical linkages that releases the door latch and will also manually unlock the door if it is locked.

The inside door latch feels like a physical linkage. Plus, if the door is unlocked, there are no solenoid/motor sounds when it releases. The lever just meets some resistance, then the door releases.
Outside, not sure. It is possible to get it into a state where it won't open even if the car is unlocked via remote first.
I'd try it with the battery disconnected if it wasn't such a pain to get to it.
