What Does "Held at the Port" Mean?
Our 2019 A5 SB is currently "held at the port". For my own education, what does this mean? Who is doing the holding, and why? And what port are we talking about?

It means that the car is literally held at the port. Reasons could be updates waiting to be applied; Audi Corporate hasn’t released the models or Some port Installed option has yet to be installed.
Best advice — ask your dealer.

Almost a year ago my TTRS was "Held at Port" for 55-60 days or so. We never got the bottom of it, but it was perhaps a ECU performance thing that they discovered, or others said it was the EPA/CARB holding cars for emissions certification. In any case, they basically can't release the car to transport until the issue is resolved.

The simple an accurate answer to your specific car is what a few others said, The 19' A5, RS5 models haven't been released yet so they sit there until they are officially released.
