Seems pretty clear to me: the oil cooler is mounted on the intake manifold, close to the oil filter.
IIRC, the drawing that @synergize posted is the drawing from the Audi Shop manual, so I consider the drawing “information directly from the horses mouth”
This is an aux radiator as part of the car being set up for a "hot weather" country like the USA.
On RS 5 it's a bit different. You have an oil cooler mounted perpendicular to the ground in the center of the bumper, then on the passenger side you have the aux radiator AND a transmission cooler, then on the driver side you have the air/water intercooler.
Dredging this thread up again because I was looking through some photos from when we installed the new grille and I noticed the pretty telling photos of the mystery vent:
“A” - The opening behind the lower grille.
”B” - The cool air path to . . .
”C” - The (hiding) Auxiliary Radiator.
