Wheel slightly off center after alignment. Would you go back to have them fix it?

Default Wheel slightly off center after alignment. Would you go back to have them fix it?

Finally talked my dealer into giving me an alignment + ACC calibration under warranty. Now I notice my steering wheel is slightly off center while the car goes straight with hands off the wheel. Is this something you'd have them fix? They already dislike me enough. You can see better if you look at the left/right stalk position vs. the steering wheel.

I put up with a similar offset for the last 6 months I had my previous car. In retrospect, I think I was silly (or maybe lazy) to do so.

That will be a constant minor annoyance that will nag at you and it's perfectly reasonable to get it adjusted.

Should be corrected. Your stability programming ( ESP) is affected by an off center steering wheel. Yours is not off much but still——

I'm having a moral conundrum. I don't know if I'm pushing it too far. I initially went in and complained about Pre Sense, but they refused to give me an ACC calibration because of my custom grille and wanted $599 for it. But then I showed them an invoice from 8 months ago from a different dealership that my car had a history of pulling to the right (they fixed it back then by rotating my tires) and I want my alignment checked under warranty. They told me they checked my alignment but it was a lie. Confronted them with proof that they were lying, and eventually they agreed to actually do an alignment and part of it is the ACC calibration.

So now they did all that, fell down a rabbit hole, and I'm going to back essentially for them to repeat it all over. As far I as I understand, centering the wheel is essentially another alignment and all the driver assistant features will need to be re-calibrated... Man do I miss the old days when you can just pay $50 to get your car aligned...

This is my 2nd dealer, and they're no better than the first. I might have to try a 3rd dealer. Why is it so hard to find quality people to work on your car?

Because we don't show respect for jobs that don't require a college education.

So the guy didn't do his alignment and then lied about it because we don't show enough respect for his job? That's BS, but I did see that meme with Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. It's the free market man, if you pay these people enough someone will do the job and do it well.

If you've already complained then you can always get a $100 4-wheel alignment at some other place, but are you telling me that on the S5 every single alignment requires an additional hundreds of dollars in sensors calibration?

Quick Reply: Wheel slightly off center after alignment. Would you go back to have them fix it?
