Very nice setup. The 9.%" width went good with the 255 tires!

I have thought of going with a 275/30R20 instead as well, because then I could slap some Nitto NT555 G2's on there.....they don't come in 265/30R20. I don't like the slanting sidewall "stretched" look either, but 9.5's were recommended for the 265's. Looks like Nitto recommends 9.5 for 275's as well. Guess that's decided.....

My issue with the stretched tire are three things I noticed for experience:
1. Shoulder wear. This is can be defeated with proper inflation.
2. Shoulder picking up road hazards. I have never got so many nails in the shoulder of my tires as I did when I ran some Continental DWS 06 285 tires on a 10.5" wheel. It was frustrating!
3. The most important for me, wheel protection. When the wheel protrudes, literally anything can come along and cause an unsightly cosmetic damage at any time. Not worth it in these days of $1000+ wheels like you posted earlier.

Beautiful wheels but I bet she would!

Thx for the approvals!

I have done the 9.5 wide on 255 now and they are perfect IMHO they have some stretch but not curb/edge issue at all Unless the wheel has a strong lip.

10"wide wheel 9.5" wheel about square.
Plus it gives a nice 0.2" drop from the OEM 8.5" and the from the rear the tire look much wider on the car. Very sporty and aggressive.

No impact on ride quality what so ever.

TOTALLY agree, especially since she had wanted us to get a new 440i for the last year or so, until I changed her mind......gotta wait a little though. Neither of us wants to get the SB without the Black Optics package, and she wants to see if they'll possibly offer the Warm Weather Pkg in Red leather next year.......I'll be patient and good until then...

Trying to decide on some rims for winter, Would these fit an A5 coupe?

Size: 18x8
(O.E. Diameter)
Offset: 35mm

If I were you, I would stay with the factory width of 8.5", or higher. No point of going more narrow as you may have fitment issues. If you go up to an 8.5" width in the same width, it will fit, but may look a bit "sucked in" to the fender due to the offset.
With an 8.5" wide wheel, I would go with a +30 offset or so.

Something like this would be better then?

18" x 8.5", +32 Offset, 5x112 Bolt Pattern, 72mm Hub
