Default When did you need new tires?

When did you need to replace the stock tires? I'm at 8,000 miles and have a bit of tread left. I think I can take it to about 15,000 before I get a new set.

On what car and what tires? There are 3 models covered by this forum and 2-3 stock tire choices for each.

This is the S5 forum, so I have a 2018 S5 which is on the stock Conti's. I'm asking how long folks have lasted on theirs.

Not trying to be pedantic but technically this is the B9 A5, S5, and RS5 forum which are three quite different cars with a capability to eat the same tire at different rates. There is also a stock all-season and a stock high performance summer option on each of those cars, and among those options 2, sometimes 3 sizeways of each (an identical tire in 2 different sizes/fitments can have different amounts of "meat" on them so size can create an important distinction for tire life as well).

I will assume your S5 has Continental SportContact 6 on it since I believe the a/s tire option is a non-Conti. Most users are getting 10,000-12,000 miles out of that tire on that car, wheel size doesn't seem to affect it. A few have seen 14,000 but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

12,000 miles on a set of tires? That's terrible. That is why when my summer performance tires wear out I will replace them with a performance all season tire like Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 Plus. I get over 30,000 miles on a set of those, warranty of 45,000 miles. Best in class handling, not as good as a summer tire but will last 3 times longer

I have an S5 SB which came with the summer continentals. I admiteddly have a heavy right foot and replaced them at 15,500 miles with Michelin PS 4S which so far I really really like.

Do you like racing slicks for street tires?

A5 or S5? You missed out on an important detail.
