Default When does auto-stop not auto-stop

I've noticed a few times that when I come to a stop sometimes the engine does not turn off. I am wondering what the circumstances are for that.

For example, I suspect that it doesn't happen when the engine is cold.

But I think I have also noticed that if I gently come to a stop and am very light on the brake it sometimes doesn't stop.

Is this discussed anywhere?

OK I think I found it in the manual (duh). Two things:
You can determine for yourse lf if the engine will stop or not by reducing or increasing the amount of force you use to press the brake pedal. For example, if you only lightly press on the brake pedal in stop-and-go traffic or when turning, the engine will not switch off when the vehicle is stationary. As soon as you press the brake down harder, the engine wi l l switch off .
And then: the engine will not be stopped, for
example in the following situations:
- The engine has not reached the minimum required temperature for Start/Stop mode .
- The interior temperature selected by the climate control system has not been reached .
- The outs ide temperature is extremely high/low.
- The windshield is being defrosted.
- The neck heating* is turned on .
- The vehicle battery charge level is too low.
- The steering wheel is turned at a sharp angle or is moving .
- After engaging the reverse gear.
- On sharp inclines.
- At high altitudes .

I don't usually use mine, but I wondered why the car turned back on while stopped for a long train at a level crossing. Of course this time of year the cabin temperature falls, but the result is the same.

Basically any time there's load on the engine or a power draw.

In order to engage auto stop your foot has to be firmly on the pedal. If it is only a light application, auto stop will not engage.

Which is a great feature that needs to be added to every Mercedes an BMW.

And when it's raining or is wet outside
