Took a test drive in a BMW 3-series wagon. Ran over a wide, mild speed bump at under 10 MPH and it crashed onto the bump stops. My A3 could take the same bump at 15 with no drama. (Haven't tried it on the S5 yet.. )

Default well...

Bounce and pitch dynamics is a difficult field - and there are static variables such as wheelbase, overhang and ground clearance involved. But I was thinking that Audi might be doing something specific with the adaptive suspension to control bottoming out.

Just tried it on the S5. 20 MPH, no problem, while the BMW in front of me crawled over the same bump at about 5.

A lot of factors could go into this. Suspension set-up, stiffness, height, etc etc.
