Or just search under the year/model at tirerack.com

So very much a newbie question, but I read on some other threads here that there could be a concern about some wheels not clearing the brake caliper? Is that just a concern for "exotic" wheels, or is that something we need to look out for in general? I would assume that choosing a wheel with the same diameter, width, offset, and bolt pattern as the OEM wheels would be ok, but again I am new to aftermarket wheels.
I have the 19 inch wheels on my S5 sportback, and I'm going to be buying 18 inch wheels for a set of dedicated winters. Ideally I'd find something used on eBay but I don't know if I have the expertise to navigate through all the crap to find the good stuff.

Its your money but 17" wheels will fit on the S5 SB. If you want to get an idea checkout tirerack. I've had good luck with them as far as finding wheels/tires that fit correctly. The big thing is try to get as close to the same overall tire diameter so your speedometer doesn't get messed up.

Yes, there are lots of considerations: Bolt pattern, hub bore, offset, caliper size... etc. Tire Rack test fits all the wheels, so if they state a wheel will fit, it will. If you're not comfortable navigating wheels, I'd stick to a larger supplier, not a random ebay supplier.

It depends on the 17" wheels, not all will.
