Worst NAV ever

With the map display in the virtual cockpit, I'd really love to use the in-car Nav system but it has to be the worst nav I've ever used!

Tried again the other day and it kept telling me to u-turn for quite a while. U-turn and go quite a ways back in the opposite direction; just ridiculous, when there were plenty of other options to take me where I wanted to go. Eventually it took the logical path (straight ahead !!) to my destination. Totally useless!!

Between this and the horrible, backup collision system that grinds my brakes for NO reason ... Audi should really be embarrassed!! I feel like an alpha tester for their horrible software.

I like the car in general but things like this will keep me from buying another Audi.

First pic shows it trying to redirect me to "faster" toll roads. Not a big deal, but clearly not the fastest way to get where I'm going. Second pic shows it finally figured out, oh.. let's just go straight.... (notice those pics are less than a minute apart)

The nav isn't the best, I agree.

Just change the settings to avoid toll roads. I find it to be fairly good compared to many other manufacturer's embedded systems.

Luckily with Android auto the built in maps is just a backup for when I am in a remote area and have no service to start nav.

I find the nav very easy to use. I like that turns are on the HUD. I also like being able to say “drive home” in my humble opinion.

First post by audimdm. I smell a troll. You've obviously never used nav in other cars.

Out of the Porsche, Audi, BMW and Honda systems I have used a bunch, I think the Audi is by far the best and easiest to use. I also think it is foolish and dangerous to take pictures of your instrument cluster while driving.

You went to a lot of effort blot out all of the road names on your map. Do you think someone here is going to come and steal your car? BTW, it looks like you're driving from Plano to Frisco, so it didn't work.

Give the new guy a break. It's not that foolish or dangerous to snap one picture. What I'm curious about is how he gets 445 miles range...

I agree the nav in this car is garbage. My 10 year old infiniti was superior in every way. But Android auto does the job well enough.
