Default X-pipe on a Hot V turbo engine

From my understanding, an X-Pipe allows the exhaust flow from both sides of the engine to interfere... However, on a Hot V turbo engine, the flow from both sides passes trough the same turbo (at least on the 3.0) so I really don't understand the purpose of a X-Pipe for this engine.
