2018 S5 Sportback. One the back of 1 of the keys, there is some metal in addition to the plastic. On the other key, it doesn't have the metal, otherwise it seems the same.

The one with the metal is naturally heavier.

Is everyone's like this? Wanted to make sure the dealer didn't accidentally lose one of my keys and this is what replacements look like. ;)

Yes.

Its so you can tell them apart.

It's to differentiate the settings for two drivers.

I know one of mine is gloss black and the other is matte black.

Cool! Thanks for the quick replies.

The gloss black is a scratch-magnet. That stays in a drawer, using the matte-black as the daily key.

when do you use the gloss one?

audi-one 10-10-2018 09:57 PM

LOL, never! Possible exceptions for when the matte key is in my coat/pants pocket on another floor, and I just want to pop in to retrieve something from the car outside.

Your A5 has glossy paint, maybe it should stay in the garage :) :)
