02 allroad, any way to synchronize the driver/pass climate controls?

02 allroad, any way to synchronize the driver/pass climate controls?
my wife is complaining that she has to adjust both, and I know in my 05 a4 al you have to do is hold down the auto button on one side and they sync, but only one auto button in the allroad. manual has no mention of how to do this.
