Default 03 AR Just in time to play

Picked up an 03 AR 2500 miles ago (been watching your posts for some months). Black, Tip, GoodYears. Nice little car. Finally decided to replace my 97 Land Cruiser with something more in keeping with my new suburban lifestyle. Just Sold the LC last week. Sure could have used it in the 2+ feet of snow we just got. Here's the short list of problems I've had to date.

1. Lost 2 coil packs under 500 miles. Very sad but quick fixes.

2. Seatbelt height adjustments rattle whenever I hit any rough road.

3. Dash has begun to rattle.

4. Suspension creaks and moans (more like sighs) when hitting changes in grade i.e. up and down parking garages.

5. True to all of your posts, Goodyears are simply too middle of the road to perform well in snow or handle crisply on dry pavement. Think I have a line on rs4 18" for summer (with good tires). Will run the rubber off the Goodyears and replace with winter tires.

Thanks for all the useful tips. Getting the inside scoop on this little machine has made getting out of my Cruiser easier. Both great machines, wish I had more room in the garage.

"Nice little car" -- we are neither amused nor impressed.

Hmmm - I thought the 2.7 was immune to the coil pack issue.

Default About the suspension creaks...

You might try asking your dealer to lube the suspension pivots. I found it was needed after some particularly dirty/wet driving through mountain passes behind the snow plow and sand truck. After some lubing, the suspension sounds dissapeared.

Default Lost Coilpacks?

the 2.7t hasn't been mentioned anywhere, and i don't think <rattles sieve that passes for brain> that i've heard anyone here mention coilpack probs with 2.7.... i assume that they replaced one at a time? and what brand/part number were they if you got a look?

Perhaps coilpack and ignition coil are not the same thing. Repair order reads "internal failure" "Replaced # 3,4 ignition coil, road tested..."

parts# 06B-905-115-J
