Re: 13000 Miles
where did you install your shifter? ask them if they used loctite when they put it back together. many tuners do not use loctite and with time 2 of the screws that hold linkage together loosen up.

I've had mine for a few thousand miles...
I like it a lot better than the stock shifter.
The positives are that shifts feel a lot firmer, the **** doesn't wiggle (much) and best of all, the shift distance is 35% shorter. The only negative is that when my shift isn't smooth (like 1 to 2 sometimes), it accentuates that feel also.
I got the Neuspeed version so I could use the stock wooden (2001) ****. It doesn't screw on, like most audi shift *****, but slides over a channel in the shaft. AFAK only the Neuspeed SS mimics that channel and lets you use the stock ****. Tanoga also makes a SS for the allroad (maybe others too).
I let my local mechanic do the install.

Nope trying to get Zev at Avalon to talk to me about it. Funny thing all these ....
advertisers on AW and none of them want to sell anything. If they respond at all, after I say allroad they don't even respond to say we don't have anything. Strange buisness model. AWE are the only ones who show any interest. Been doing buisness with them 2 years now. Good Guys.

Not to "knock" on Avalon or Zev but....

<b> Below:</b> 2002 EU surround (on car) Vs. 2001 EU surround.

First let me say Avalon/Zev HAVE gotten back to me on more than one occasion regarding several inquiries so I can't say anything bad. However...
In my opinion (<i>REPEAT</i> - <b>MY OPINION</b> - <i>for those of you that freak out and take everything posted personally</i>!)...
I think Avalon, The Race Store, LLTek, etc. are great when they HAVE the facts. But when it comes to specific Audi brand Euro-spec items, i.e. Nav Plus, chrome mirror covers, Euro surround (see above pic.) they haven't a clue. Hence no response - or at best the "run-around".
In fact I might have more info on the Nav Plus then some of these places! I've researched this <i>semi</i>-extensively along with chrome covers and Euro surround. I've only been successful with the surround and a couple other cosmetic items...
In short the easiest way to obtain such items is direct contact with overseas dealers. I simply walked into a dealer when in Germany and bought my surrounds over the counter. If you can find a dealer in EU (also try G.B.) that is willing to ship the head unit - that's all you need. The problem is most won't send it because they know it's not compatible with U.S. signal transmissions, etc. AND there is absolutely no return policy on these (Nav Plus). Another place is to try <i>E-bay Deutschland</i> - I've purchased a few items there - last I looked there were about 4 Nav Plus units (some new - "allegedly")....

How many times do I need to say CALL THEM (m)
Whenever someone posts about not being able to reach Zev, he says just call.
I called Avalon to get an exhaust...Zev answered personally and discussed all of my options, contacted Hoppen, and I had the exhaust in 3 days. I even got an email from him asking how I like the exhaust.
I guess he must get lots of email from crazed Audi folks like us!
