Default 2 potential allroad replacements, but they're not Audis- 335xiSport Wagon and 535 wagon

The new E90 3-series will supposedly be released in a wagon for '08 model year.

New body 5 is coming for '08 as well with no more Bangle butt, and will also be offered as a 535xi wagon, though not at the beginning of the model run.

So let's see- BMW will offer not 1 but 2 wagons, all wheel drive, twin turbo 6 cylinder (300HP/ 300 lb-ft of torque); yet Audi doesn't think there's a market for another allroad and wants us to all be happy with a $55K 3.2L Avant sled.

And a 300hp 335xi wagon that's $8-10K less than an S4 Avant?

And Audi wants to take their cars upmarket and increase prices? I think BMW has just called their hand.

Sorry guys, but as soon as ordering info is available, I'll most likely be defecting.

(335 info from family friend BMW dealer owner, and only vaguely confirmed by BMW; 535 info is prelim from BMW USA)

Default I have to say a 535xi wagon would be a worthy replacement.

Although I can't get past the dash design, it's a nice looking wagon on the outside. I would contemplate the same move.

so does that mean you'll have a clearance sale on all your wheels?

Default As I said before, we tried a few times to buy a 530xi to replace the 3 series and were treated like

crap from both dealers. The only reason is that the 530xi is the only 4 wheel drive with a manual.

Default Been in this camp a long time. 530(5)xi manual will likely replace my allroad.

But I'm going to hold on to the allroad as long as I can. I think post CPO repairs after July 08, might take the luster out of the relationship, but on the other hand, maybe I'll have enough cash lying about and will be so far down the mod hole...

Default I thought BMW was not going to bring the 335 in a wagon and AWD...

In the past, they only offered the AWD (xi) wagon in the smaller engine (in the US). Have you heard otherwise with the 335xi wagon in the US?

e90post on topic...
