I had to cut mine down as well. Glad you (and I) caught it right away before ruining whatever they were hitting 'back there'.
Since I have lots of AR, and run tons of different wheels/tires/types (dedicated winter/summer rather than 'no good in ALL season tires'), I made myself a cheat sheet to avoid mixing/messing up:
Spacer mm Bolt Thread Length mm Nearest Bolt Standard length mm Cut
stock 27 27 0
15 42 45 3
18 45 45 0
20 47 50 3
25 52 55 3
27 54 55 1
30 57 60 3

i think you should also take the thickness of the wheel into affect also. i have the tsw nuremburgring's, and 47mm(?) bolts. i had to take them down to roughly 45mm i beleive.

Will check stock thickness (have 'stock' stock and 'twin spoke' stocks), and the 2 aftermarket wheels.

Wheel mounting flange thickness should definitely be considered. Our wheel spacers and bolts are designed to work with OEM wheels. Granted most aftermarket wheels have the same thickness mounting flange as OEM wheels there are some companies that are thinner/thicker.
For the most accurate fitment always take some measurements prior to ordering.
I'll be happy to help with suggestion the correct size wheel bolt and spacer if anyone ever has any questions.

vtraudt - you're a prime example why one should have studs, not bolts. One set of studs would service all the spacers/wheels you have without a need for bag of bolts.
Unless you start with studs one half mile long; but then they stick a quarter mile out with standard wheels (no spacers) mounted.
And boy, changing studs (when switching from summer to winter set for example) is CERTAINLY nothing I want to do twice a year.

I am not sure what are you guys belly aching about. I run studs on my audi with various spacers and they are best thing ever since sliced bread. Anybody who ever tried to mount a wheel with a spacer, non-locked rotor (like ours are, there is no set screw to lock it in place) and a heavy wheel knows that it is sometimes a huge pita to do and quickly gets old when you take off wheels frequently.
That's why people switch to studs since they make wheel/spacer change a breeze and almost a pleasure, in comparison to doing the same with so many moving parts needing to stay aligned.
Use your bag of bolts if you like them so much... I will stay with studs.
