I noticed that 02 models, and newer, have a sport shift mode with the Tips does the 01 have that and if not is it that big of a improvement?...thanks

I think it's a great feature for spirited driving.

Just use regular D mode when the car is warming up or cooloing down after spirited driving. Sport mode is great, especially on the highway.

I had an 01 for a few weeks and it had the paddle shifters on the wheel and so does my 02.

Is there and S mode? P, D, R, S
in addition to the +/- tip mode.

S is a sport program of the shift points. It hold the gear longer and somewhat increases the speed of the down shifts.
