Guys - now that Im having to buy my own wiper blades Im noticing that the Audi ones tend to leave a "smear" on the passenger side middle - its like the curve of the windshield is too great and the middle of the wiper does not clean.

Anyone have any suggestions for better wipers WITHOUT having to retrofit the 2001 wiper system?

allroad wipers to this brand; these are the ones that have this windshield adaptive blade design with a curved spring. No more 4 pressure points or so, this blade distributes the pressure on the windshield (almost) 100% equally. Cost a few bucks more but well worth IMO.

Your best bet is Autozone because they'll install it, and if they don't fit your 03/04 model then you just walk away.

But if they make it for a 87CGT, then they should also have it for newer cars, give it a try.

Had similiar problem solved by severely cleaning all flex points, now do this 2-3x year.
