45-60 or 65-75 shudder on '03 allroad. PLEASE HELp
hello to all,
i am new to this board as i just leased an '03 allroad. I have the infamous 65-75 shudder which only apparent in fifth gear and at intermediate acceleration. I had thought that audi had a solution by the mid '02 year, but apparently not. Any other '03 owners with this problem? If so are there any potential solutions or will it be just a quirck with the car? Thanks to all...

I'm not sure that your symptoms match
The infamous shudder is typically at 45 mph. Some have had TCMs replaced but with mixed results. I would first get a 4 wheel alignment and a road force wheel balancing done to eliminate other possible causes.

I have a 2003 allroad and was OK (mild shudder at 45 which was not bothersome) until recently I got a bad shudder at 75 mph.
RIght after this I went through a boston potole and ruined a tire - in taking it off I saw a ton of mud from one of my offroad adventures caked to one side of the rim - this was enough to unbalance the wheel and make it shudder - in the northeast with the cold weather mud has a tendency to stick to the rim and not come off - perhaps this might be your problem as well - mud on one side of the rim - I could not see this without taking off the rim cause I wasnt thinking that is the problem
