605 Relay - Able to be replaced without detection?
I would like to pull the 605, but I don't want to mess with the warranty, let alone any possible lease terms I may be violating. Can the dealer detect that it has been "played" with? Can I pull it, then put it back in each time it goes to the dealer?
Or, should I just ASK my dealer what they think?
Thanks.

Re: Detection
I've had mine into the dealer for routine service since pulling it, and the dealer didn't notice it or at least didn't mention it. I don't think there's any cause for concern, unless you are worried about the reliability of the steering (I'm not).

My experience
I pulled the 605 relay a while ago and just had the 10k service done. My dealer apparently is VERY down on any mod's (based on my salesman's responses during a test drive) - but I didn't bother to replace it before I went in. No one said anything about it. Maybe they didn't notice. I certainly didn't ask.
My guess is that they would only "notice" if I had an issue with some part of the steering system. My response if they did question it would be that I'm only bringing the car back to the European version (where the Servotronic steering is just an option). HTH

No 605 Relay ......................??
After spending about an hour dismanteling my AR, NO 605 to be found anywhere, nearest was 603 though, big brown relay with no other text than "603".....may this be a replacement for the "605"..... does anyone maybe have an URL to these technical specs for Audi AR?!

605 help
MarkFank posted instructions a while ago with photographs (including the location of the relay - its just above the 603). I would only add that I removed all five screws and then slid the dash bottom piece out of the clips by pulling towards the front seat. The five screws include the two he shows; two accessed under the center foam piece above the steering wheel (just pull it straight back - towards the seat); and one more accessed by removing the fuse box cover.
The relay itself just pulls out. It took me a couple of days to get used to the steering, but now I would never go back to the overboosted version. (Of course, you do this at your own risk, blah, blah, blah).

Re: Detection
Had mine in to the dealer today. I asked the head service guy if he would pull it. He said no, but that it was easy and he didn't care if I pulled it. He said he's already seen other 605 pulled ARs in for service, and the owners were real happy. He was almost encouraging me to do it.
