Air suspension question
One of the Allroads I am looking at (05, easy driven, well maintained) had the front air suspension replaced with springs (supposedly the rear is still stock).
The owner had it done when the second set of front air springs went out. Anyone have any idea how hard to change it back. The car will be in Buffalo NY and I want the height adjustment for snow. |
As long as all the air lines and leveling sensors are still intact, you can just throw in a used air spring or an Arnott unit.

Ive never heard of front on springs and rear on air, not impossible but very unussual, sounds like it will have been messed around with if thats the case, the only way to check would be look for every part, such as level sensors on each corner and so on to see if you could swap it back, sounds a bit messy

Theoretically, if you get the front springs to exact factory height, and never adjust it via the dash controls, it could work. Of course, you would have to stay at level 1 or keep it in manual mode.
