allroad colors -- my enlightment...
...and, no, this doesn't mean I now prefer Atlas Dingy to Superfast Silver.
But it does mean I'm not as hot on Burgundy as I was.
I went in to the dealer for an oil change and there, sitting outside in semi-diffuse sunlight, all lined up in a row, were allroads in Light Silver Metallic, Burgundy Red, Alpaca Beige, and Atlas Gray. Early in the day, they were all pretty dusty, but then the dealer's car washer guys came by and cleaned them up.
So now, of that group of colors at least, the burgundy's at the bottom of my list. It does indeed look pretty brown -- kind of like dried blood, only shiny.
And to be fair, I have the say the atlas looks pretty good.

Re: allroad colors -- my enlightment...
I was deciding among these 3 colors as best suited to my tastes: black, atlas grey, and light silver:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/50456/black_allroad27t.jpg"><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/50456/atlas_allroad27t.jpg"><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/50456/light_allroad27t.jpg">
Sometimes I feel that the light silver is just too light, but that's typically just in the showroom. However, there are an awful lot of silvers out there on the road.
The 1998 A4 that I'm trading in is black and I love the color, but I thought that for the Allroad it might be nice to get a shade lighter to diffentiate the bumpers from the body.
Atlas Grey seemed like a good compromise between black and light silver but sometimes around twilight it looks a little like Taupe (blah!) In bright sunlight or in the showroom, however, it's beautiful.
I ended up getting a black one because I found a great deal on it. Just got back from making the deal and I'm taking delivery today at 4:30PM PST.
Cheers!

I agree. Saw a burgundy recently and wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be....
Still waiting to see blue, but until then I'll stick with my silver which IMHO is the most attractive (when clean), as well as the fastest, color.
