Default Allroad held hostage 11 days & now new problem

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/113205/allroad.jpg"></center><p>Just got my allroad back from 11 days in the shop for the torque converter. The repair was covered by the used car dealer I went through so I'm just happy to have my car back.

The transmission shop may have caused a new problem. The air suspension warning light is now on but the air suspension works just fine. When I start the car all the standard lights come on and turn off but the air suspension light turns off for a split second and then back on. Could they have disconnected the sensor by accident? Any thoughts?

Thanks, Orlando

Default When I had a bad sensor, the corner with the bad sensor was always the wrong height...

And I could not fix it with the Vag-Com. Infact I could not set the height as all with the Vag or do the 402 mod.

If you had a VAG-COM it could provide some insight...

Also, is that a factory full paint job? Or did you have it done? If you had it done, what did you pay and are you happy with it?

Default Did they use jack mode?

I'm so paranoid about shops not using (or knowing about) jack mode that I both enable it when I leave the car and leave a photocopied page from the owner's manual on the instrument cluster.

Default Second that, if it's not an Audi dealer then might not know about it, you always better ask if they

know about how to lift an allroad AND know the buttons to push.....happened quite often, so be aware.

Default First week I got my car, the Goodyear tire guys, bless their hearts, knew they

had to do something (you have to give them credit for that) and had the owners manual out as I flew into the back once I remembered that I hadn't showed them how to do it.

Always do it for them or show them specifically how to put it on and off.

Default OK, I'm a Noob... I got wheel and tires before I knew about jack mode. My tire shop didn't know

about it either. I'm sure of this because I was there the whole time and they didn't even know the car had adjustable suspension. But I never had any problems....

So, jack mode will stop the AR from leveling itself right?

So, if your dumb and dont use jack mode, and the car tries level it self when it's on a jack what will happen? will it throw a code, will it damage the suspension, seals, sensors, somthing else?...

Just curious what jack mode prevents, and how long it takes to do damage if you don't use jack mode-

(sorry if this is in the manual, I'll look there soon)

Default I'm sure someone can give a more technical answer but as I understand it locks

the suspension so it doesn't adjust when it is "loose" on the rack.

Default My guess is...please note this is only my guess...

When ar is on a jack, the ride height sensors will tell it that it's too high. The ar will try to lower down itself by releasing the air in the air spring. This may empty out the air in the air spring. When you lower down the jack, the ar's suspensions may get hurt.

Default Let's assume that they did not use jack mode

Does the error clear itself eventually or do I have to visit the dealership to get the error reset?

Default I would take it back and have them explain what they did...at least to acknowledge

that you have the error, you believe, as a result of it being in their shop. Give them an opportunity to "fix" whatever is causing the code, or reset and see if it comes back...just a few thoughts.
