allroad and Napa Valley, plus rain, plus anniversary=
an amazing weekend. allroad performed flawlessly, owning all other traffic on the road (with the exception of the numerous Porsche turbo's on the road). It rained just about all weekend, but the allroad kept us dry and got pretty muddy.
Bistro Don Giovanni was great, although the server was very pretentious to my wife and I. Perhaps it was because we didn't drink any wine. After all, tasting wine for two days straight can get a little cumbersome! You go out to dinner and sometimes a nice glass of Anchor Steam seems refreshing!
Rombauer is still my favorite winery, although Vincent Arroyo is gaining on Rombauer. What other winery can you stay at for four hours, chatting with the owner and sampling from the barrel? As good as Rombauer is, Vincent Arroyo knows how to treat you.
Cakebread was tasty, but at $20 a tasting, it kind of takes the appeal away. Granted, their Chardonay was voted the best in the country and their cab was voted second best in the country, $40 to taste a few ounces of wine is just silly....especially when you buy a case afterwards. Sure, they give you nice recipe's afterwards, but is that really worth the extra $20 bucks?
Found a cool VW single-cab for sale, looked to be a 59, in okay shape. All the pieces were there and it is totally stock. Anyone interested?

sounds like a great weekend.
Personally I tend to prefer Frog's Leap to Cakebread, but both are good.
I am out your way again thurs/fri this week, but probably won't have time for another nor cal gtg. Maybe next time.

Has it been a year already, where does the time go?
May be down in the area today (10/26) Taking plastic cars exhaust (borla system) for some custom work.
Happy anniversary, One year down a lifetime to go.
